Security labels

Security labels provide protection for products (equipment, devices, machinery) against unauthorized opening and label removal. If an attempt is made to remove the label, due to the special material, it will delaminate or leave a security pattern on the surface. Such labels protect products from unauthorized tampering or repair, as well as from counterfeiting or substitution.

Tamper-evident labels are available in two types:

• with a checkerboard pattern;
• destructible labels.

Checkerboard tamper-evident label is a matte multilayer label made of grey polypropylene. When removed, a hidden checkerboard pattern appears.

Checkerboard labels are used in applications where proof of label removal is required (cosmetology, medical sector).

The checkerboard pattern left on the product is undeniable evidence that the packaging integrity has been compromised and tampering has occurred. Checkerboard labels can be printed using thermal transfer label printers. This printing method requires the use of a ribbon. It is recommended to use these labels for small text printing (203 dpi, 300 dpi) or barcodes.

The labels are supplied in rolls and use a durable acrylic adhesive. This makes them resistant to UV radiation, moisture, and temperature fluctuations. Operating temperature ranges from -30°C to +80°C; however, the minimum application temperature is +8°C.

For destructible tamper-evident labels, a white multilayer self-adhesive film is used, consisting of foamed polystyrene with a transparent coating. The foam structure ensures protection against obvious tampering attempts. These labels are used to seal joints, equipment, safes, and containers.

Information can be printed on destructible labels using thermal transfer printing.

The print quality can be rated as "good", but these labels are not recommended for very small text or barcode printing.

Foamed destructible labels are recommended to be applied at a minimum temperature of +3°C, with an operating temperature range from -15°C to +75°C.
