Crane Scales for Industrial Weighing and Accounting Automation
Our website features crane scales from the following manufacturers: CAS (South Korea), EHP (Germany), Mika (Ukraine).

What to consider when choosing crane scales
- Accounting automation. Crane scales are an important element of an enterprise accounting system: raw material intake, recipe-based loading, weighing of semi-finished products, and finished goods. Crane scales are divided into two types: those connected to a computer system and standalone units. If scales are not integrated into an accounting system, the “human factor” becomes significant (errors, misentries, manipulation). Consider automation requirements from the start.
- Service support. Are there dealers, representatives, and service centers in regional centers of Ukraine? This must be carefully evaluated. If a supplier handles everything independently, consider the risks: what happens if they cease operations? You may be left without service or spare parts.
- Manufacturer support and spare parts availability. Spare parts should be available throughout the entire lifecycle (7–10 years). For brands like CAS (South Korea) and EHP (Germany), spare parts are available even after long-term operation. For lesser-known brands, repairs may become impossible shortly after warranty expiration.
- Chinese equipment. China is a global manufacturing leader. However, if scales are labeled “made in China,” pay special attention to service support and warranty conditions.
Operating conditions
This is one of the most critical selection criteria. The degree of protection against environmental factors is defined by the IP rating. Crane scales with capacities of 5 tons and above are often used outdoors and exposed to precipitation. Therefore, protection should be at least IP65. Reliable models include LDN by EHP (Germany) and CAS Caston-III (South Korea). For indoor applications, more cost-effective solutions such as Mir Vesov (Ukraine) may be sufficient.
Temperature operating range
LED-display crane scales typically operate down to -25°C. Below this, measurement accuracy may decrease. LCD-display models operate down to -10°C, below which the display may freeze. The upper operating limit is typically +55°C, allowing operation in direct sunlight. For extreme environments (e.g., molten metal at +400–1600°C), thermal shields are required. Although this increases cost, it ensures reliable operation. For demanding industrial conditions, the EHP KWG model is a recommended choice.
Results and usability
Industrial crane scales use LED displays with digit heights of 50–60 mm, allowing visibility at distances of 10–15 meters. Additional remote displays further extend usability. Most modern crane scales are equipped with remote controls: infrared (10–15 m range) or radio (20–25 m). Remote control enables safe and continuous operation without stopping the process.

If automation is planned, pay special attention to the following models:
These models feature communication interfaces on external display units. Data can be transmitted to a computer via RS-232 or Wi-Fi.

Data transmission enables automation of weighing records and control. In addition to integration with accounting systems (e.g., ERP/MES), data can also be synchronized with video surveillance systems.

This provides cross-verification: weight readings and documentation are recorded simultaneously on video.

The operator cannot influence weight readings; they can only confirm data input and select the product from the directory.
Continuous operation
Crane scales can operate continuously. Operating time depends on the battery capacity. The use of interchangeable battery packs is highly convenient (one in use, one charging). This is especially important for 24/7 operations. In this category, the Caston III model is a leader, with battery replacement taking only 30 seconds.

Documentation
All crane scales we offer are certified and included in the State Register or have metrological approval. Annual verification is required, and certificates must be retained throughout the entire service life. If documentation is missing, re-certification may be required, which is significantly more expensive.
Price of crane scales
Crane scales are complex and high-value equipment. Their operating conditions impose strict requirements on durability and reliability. If you are offered unusually low prices, this should raise concerns. Pay attention to protection ratings, service capabilities, temperature range, and most importantly — service support.
