identytag OnMetal Global Label 54 x 25 mm is a series of industrial passive UHF RFID tags specifically designed for identifying equipment, metal containers, reusable transport items, components, assemblies and other assets with metal surfaces.
Unlike standard RFID labels, which may perform poorly when applied directly to metal, OnMetal Global Label is optimized for reliable operation on metallic surfaces. Its 54 x 25 x 1.8 mm format provides enough space for visual identification while remaining compact enough for industrial equipment and other assets.
The tag can be used not only as an RFID identifier, but also as a combined identification medium: RFID + barcode + Data Matrix + human-readable number.
OnMetal Global Label 54 x 25 mm Product Variants
The series includes four part numbers based on NXP UCODE 9xm and NXP UCODE 9xe RFID chips. The variants also differ by supply option — without prior personalization or with customized printing and RFID encoding.

Which 54 x 25 mm RFID Tag Should You Choose?
For flexible asset tracking, inventory, maintenance and traceability applications, versions based on NXP UCODE 9xm provide the greatest versatility.
The UCODE 9xm chip supports configurable EPC memory and additional User Memory. This makes it suitable not only for storing a unique asset identifier, but also for more advanced applications where additional operational data needs to be stored directly in the RFID chip.
If the application only requires a standard 128-bit EPC and no additional user memory, versions based on NXP UCODE 9xe may be sufficient.
Custom Printing and RFID Encoding
The OnMetal Global Label surface is made of white polyester and is suitable for thermal transfer printing.
The RFID tag can be customized with:

RFID Tag Selection and Testing
Nominal RFID tag specifications do not guarantee identical performance on every type of equipment. Surface material, object geometry, tag placement and tag orientation can significantly affect RFID read quality and range.
